4/11/2023 0 Comments Rosebud somervilleRichie cleaned the plate of pancakes while I dug into the eggs Benedict. I have never seen Richie eat more green food in his entire life, and although he still can’t pronounce matcha, his approval of the pancakes means that even the pickiest of eaters will conquer a fear of green food to enjoy this dish.Īn order of brisket Benedict and chicken and waffles arrived at the table while we were attempting not to fill up on the pancakes and avocado toast. The burst of flavor that these crumbles gave the pancakes was a dream. Strawberry and matcha is basically a match made in heaven. On top of the matcha pancakes were some slices of fresh strawberries and lots of strawberry cream crumble. The matcha pancakes were sent to the table by the chef and I am not sure if he is trying to perfect a recipe, but if he is – I would like to let him know that no changes need to be made. I think there are three great food items that he will actually eat, and I was shocked that he even tried green pancakes. I don’t think I have mentioned how picky of an eater Richie can be. Maybe if enough people ask for the “chefs matcha pancakes,” they will make them a permanent item. This next dish was a bit of a bonus but I am about to start a petition for Rosebud to add it to the menu. I could keep talking about how amazing the avocado toast was but I need to keep this moving, there is more to dive into. The flavor and crunch factor that it added will be the reason I revisit Rosebud. The savory corn salsa brought this dish to life. When it arrived at the table, the smile on my face was probably as wide as the day I realized I was going to join the Bitches Who Brunch team. The two pieces of Texas toast were topped with avocado, salsa, and sunny side up eggs. I have had some fantastic avocado toast in my life and this one is currently tied for first place with my toast from Atlantic Fish Co. I am on a search for the best avocado toast and have an obligation to order it every time it is offered. We started with an order of avocado toast and an apple cider doughnut. The mimosa was strong and the blood orange flavor was a simple way to upgrade a classic brunch drink! The jumbo lasted Richie most of his meal. The maple syrup gave this drink a smooth, sweet flavor and the Fazenda cold brew made a shot of bourbon taste appropriate as an 11 a.m. I loved watching the liquids mix when I poured about half of the sweet cream into the glass. The Kentucky iced coffee came served in a glass mug with the cream on the side (the cream is usually mixed in but you can ask for it on the side). Richie, my boyfriend, ordered a jumbo blood orange mimosa. I am not a bourbon drinker, but I figured the coffee would mask most of the alcohol. I needed a coffee and while scanning the drink items, I came across the Kentucky iced coffee. While looking over the menu our upbeat waitress, Grace, came over and took our drink orders. I am a sucker for a good corner booth, and when I was seated in one I was instantly in a good mood.
