Along with over 300 Helix amps, cabs, and effects-even a looper-the HX Stomp guitar processor includes a legacy library of effects from Line 6 M-Series pedals, as well as from classic Line 6 stompbox modelers such as the DL4™, MM4™, FM4™, and DM4™. The same HX Modeling technology that powers the flagship Helix guitar processor enables HX Stomp to run up to six processing blocks simultaneously, with pristine audio quality, making it the most powerful and flexible stompbox-sized guitar processor currently available. Use it as a “super stompbox,” a backup or fly rig, an add-on tone expander when combined with other modelers, an audio interface-or even a complete guit ar or bass rig. HX Stomp is a programmable amp/cab/effects/IR pedal that seamlessly integrates into a variety of environments and applications. Whereas the Line 6® HX Effects™ pedal is designed to be the centerpiece of a pedalboard, providing full control over individual effects, amp switching, and external MIDI-equipped pedals. I like that I can integrate into whatever solution I doesn't force me into some all or nothing setup.HX Stomp™ is a professional-grade guitar processor that delivers the sound of Helix® amps, cabs, and effects in an ultra-compact pedal. I just like the flexibility to be there.in practice I've gigged with the same basic Helix patch for three years. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who generally gigs with a Fender Deluxe and a drive pedal. And whenever you decide to record/run direct/run wet/dry rigs, etc. It's wacky how easily you can route and integrate things. You can run a preamp into the effects return in 4CM.and you can do all that stuff from the Floor without any tone suck. You can use preamp sections just like you'd use an "amp in the box" type of overdrive solution. And it's ridiculously simple to do that stuff.way easier to get right than anything I've used before.Īmp modeling is great for more than just running direct. Assign all that to a footswitch (or scenes) and I instantly have a ton of options from just one drive pedal. But I can do cool things like add an EQ/boost block in front of the Blue Note to push it into a whole other level of OD/tone shaping, and then use a volume/EQ block to bring the levels in line so that it all works. I have my Rockett pedals in the loop of my Helix.they sound and react totally normally. It's hard to wrap your head around just how much flexibility and useful stuff you can do. To me, I was really surprised how much I liked the options that the Helix gives me by having my own drives in the loops. Sorry to add more options on the table but based on what you are saying it might be worth a look. I forget the models but they have loop switching (all your drives/vibe) and allow you to add Boss effects as well. The other option is one of those Boss switcher units with effects. You get four loops (hopefully that's enough) and it'll do great. That said I'm going to throw you a real curve ball and suggest you try a Helix Floor. I say start there.worst case is you'll get it, not enjoy it and move on to something else. I wanted a switching system for my drive pedals so I went with the Helix Floor originally and now have the Rack.Įverything you have described so far points to the HX Stomp as the most obvious fit. ![]() An H9 is a great unit but has a lot more limitations compared to the HX Stomp. I think the challenge is you have to define this for yourself. If you want both amp modeling and effects and a switching system to integrate your existing pedals in loops then the full Floor or Rack/Controller is awesome. But it only allows you to use any 6 blocks at one time but they can be anything you want. If you want to just add amp modeling and additional effects to an existing pedalboard then the Stomp seems like the obvious choice. What is on it and what features are you looking to add to it?Ī lot comes down to how you are approaching things. Has already covered most of - you mentioned an existing board.
